[origin: EP0451537A1] The invention relates to a frame construction for structural glazing. A modular frame (3) comprising two chambers (8, 9) is adhesively bonded in two steps with an insulating glazing unit (5). A seal (4) lies against the outer chamber (9) and bears against a mullion profile (1) in the vertical direction (7) and against a transom profile (2) in the horizontal direction (6). The internal cross-section (19) of the seal (4) is constructed as a water-channelling region. Water collects in the corner regions (20) of the internal cross-section (19) and flows off through drainage openings (21) in a hollow chamber (23) running along the mullion profile (1). <IMAGE>
