Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0451779A1] What is proposed is a locking cylinder comprising a locking-cylinder housing (14) having an axis, a locking-cylinder core (10) received rotatably in an axis-parallel hollow-cylindrical bearing surface (16) of the locking-cylinder housing (14) and having a key channel (18) for receiving a suitable key (20), and at least one cylindrical blocking pin (24) guided in a guide of the locking-cylinder core (10) in a plane approximately perpendicular to the axis and having a dome-shaped end face (24c) which is distant from the key channel and of which the end (24d) near the key channel can be controlled by a side face of varied level of the key (20) and of which the dome-shaped end face (24c) distant from the key channel interacts in a cam-like manner with an individual recess (26, 26') arranged on the bearing surface (16) of the locking-cylinder housing (14), in such a way that, during the rotation of the locking-cylinder core (10) by means of the suitable key (20), the blocking pin (24) can be disengaged from the individual recess (26, 26'). At the same time, when the blocking pin (24) is aligned with the individual recess (26, 26') and the dome-shaped end face (24c) penetrates into the individual recess (26, 26'), the contour of the individual recess (26, 26') located in the bearing surface (16) projects over the outline of the blocking pin (24), defined by the bearing surface (16), in at least one circumferential direction of the bearing surface (16) and has an axial width decreasing with an increasing circumferential distance from the blocking-pin axis. <IMAGE>
