[origin: WO9008242A1] Safety system for motor vehicles, comprising a portable transmitter (1) for a coded signal which is radiotransmitted and a receiver (4) arranged inside the motor vehicle, which modifies the state of the theft-protection devices when it receives the appropriate coded signal. In this system, the coded signal includes an additional part for setting the operating elements of the motor vehicle according to the user. The transmitter (1) is specially designed so that the theft-protection devices no longer have to be separately unlocked and the user no longer needs to set said elements individually.
