[origin: EP0452691A2] The invention relates to a spinning machine, especially a flier, having a plurality of spinning stations which are arranged in a row next to one another and each of which possesses a deflecting and guiding body (10) for slivers or rovings (12). The spinning stations are assigned a plurality of drawing units (11) arranged next to one another, the drawing-unit plane, that is to say the plane defined by the lines of contact of the drawing-unit cylinders, being inclined relative to the horizontal. The spinning stations are covered by a table plate (13) which is arranged underneath the deflecting and guiding bodies (10) and which has passage orifices (33) for the slivers. To blow the table plate (13) clean, a blowing device (14) is provided. The deflecting and guiding bodies (10) are so arranged that the free sliver portions (12) running between them and the drawing units (11) all lie in a plane which is inclined relative to the horizontal plane.
