The object of the invention is to propose a method according to the title of the invention, in which subjective errors are largely prevented. <??>This object is achieved in that a data-processing system has knowledge stores which contain the interrelation of characteristics for obtaining specific product properties of the textile end product and for the spinning machine itself. When the specific characteristics are preset, the assignment or calculation of the characteristics of the spinning machine is carried out by a logical circuit. Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, ein Verfahren nach dem Titel der Erfindung vorzuschlagen, bei welchem subjektive Fehler weitestgehend ausgeschlossen werden. Diese Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, daß in einer Datenverarbeitungsanlage Wissensspeicher angelegt werden, die die gegenseitige Zuordnung von Kenngrößen für das Erreichen bestimmter Erzeugniseigenschaften des textilen Enderzeugnisses und für die Spinneinrichtung selbst beinhalten. Bei Vorgabe spezifischer Kenngrößen wird durch eine Verknüpfungsschaltung die Zuordnung oder Errechnung der Kenngrößen der Spinneinrichtung vorgenommen. Die Endergebnisse werden auf die Rotorspinnmaschine übertragen.
