[origin: EP0453296A1] A vacuum cleaner has an outer body (2,3), and a rigid casing (31) enclosing a dust collection chamber (9) and a rigid casing (16,17) enclosing a brushless blower motor both inside the main body. An air inlet from the dust collection chamber (9) to the blower casing (16,17) has a vibration-isolating sealing member (69), and is covered by a microfilter (33) to protect the brushless motor (7). The casing walls are curved to a great extent, to reduce noisy vibrations. In particular, at least 70% of the wall area of the blower casing (16,17) has curvature in at least one plane. <IMAGE>
