[origin: EP0453727A2] The invention relates to a device for splicing webs, particularly paper webs for the production of corrugated board, with at least one pressing and deflecting roller (17, 18) for the web (11) running off a web reel, with two alternately active holding rollers (25, 70) for the beginning of the replacement web (12) to be drawn off a web reel, said holding rollers being movable from starting positions into working positions, with a clamping beam (40) which interacts alternately with one or the other holding roller, possesses mutually opposite pressing faces (43) for the respective holding roller and has at its upper side a pressing face (42) for the web running over it, with two braking beams (55, 60) which interact alternately with the upper side of the clamping beam to brake the expiring web, and with two alternately active blades (64, 65) for cutting off the expiring web, the holding rollers (25, 70) being arranged on carriages (26) with a positive drive for displacement along a straight horizontal path (28) from a predetermined starting position into a predetermined working position, and vice versa, and each holding roller being capable of moving back over a predetermined angular displacement from a preparation position for receiving the web beginning into a pressing position, in which the web beginning provided with an adhesive layer can be freely accessed by the active clamping beam (40) over a predetermined length b. <IMAGE>
