[origin: EP0453765A1] The roll body (14) of the roll core (10) has at its lateral edges (20, 20') projections (22) which protrude beyond the printing products (40) wound onto the roll core (10) in the direction of the longitudinal axis (12), and cutouts (24) which are partially covered by the printing products (40). When the rolls (38) are stacked one above the other in the manner of a tower, the projections (22) of one roll core (10) engage in the cutouts (24) of the roll core (10) of the adjacent roll (38). Upon stacking, the printing products (40) wound on the rolls (38) thus come to rest against one another. This results in preventing mutual slipping of the rolls (38) during transport. <IMAGE>
