[origin: EP0453791A1] In a buckle folder with at least two folding points (F1, F2) formed in each case by a folding-roller pair (W1/W2; W2/W3), and a draw-in device which consists of two advance rollers (T1, T2) and which defines the advance speed for the material to be folded, the draw-in device lies in an advance path (4) running past the first folding point (F1). Arranged directed towards the first folding point are two insert supplying devices, a first behind and a second in front of the draw-in device. In order that an insert can be inserted alternatively into the first or into the second fold, the first folding point (F1) is assigned a knife-like deflection member (6) which can be moved towards the first folding point (F1) with simultaneously fold-forming deflection of the material to be folded and individually actuated for each folding process by an electronic control device (21).
