[origin: EP0453974A2] The invention relates to a "CAMERA-FLASH" unit on the margin table (M) of an insertion station (1) of a machine for cutting sheets (F) for the purpose of producing packages. The "CAMERA-FLASH" unit acquires an image of the colour registration marks provided on each successive sheet during the previous printing. The "CAMERA-FLASH" unit is associated with an "IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM" in which a reference image taken from a model sheet has previously been stored. On the basis of a comparison, by image processing, of the image taken of each sheet with the stored image of the model, it is possible to check if the production quality criteria are met. <IMAGE>
