[origin: EP0454278A2] An electrical connector (5') for use on a circuit board (82) comprises an insulating housing (50). Electrical contacts (65') secured in upper and lower rows in the housing (50) have contact sections (65a') positioned in an opening (51') in the housing (50) for engaging complementary electrical contacts (45') of a mating electrical connector (1'). The electrical contacts (65') also have post sections (65b') extending from the rear surface of the housing (50), outwardly and downwardly in upper and lower parallel rows. The post sections (65b') of the upper contacts (65') are arranged in a an upper row and the post sections of the lower contacts (65') are arranged in a lower row. The post sections (65b') of the upper row have conductor engaging sections (65c') engaging on the upper surface of the circuit board (82) and the post sections (65b') of the lower row have conductor engaging sections (65c') engaging against the lower surface of the circuit board (82). <IMAGE>
