Abstract (en)
Bridge, particularly of very large span, whose deck is supported by diverted stay cables passing over pylons (21). Some of the stay cables (22) are anchored on the deck at two points of the deck located on either side of one and the same pylon (21), and the central part of a span between two pylons is supported exclusively by other stay cables (25) which, after having been diverted to the top of a pylon, are each anchored in an anchorage block (26). The tensile stress to which the central part of the deck is subjected through the effect of these stay cables (25) directed towards the tops of the two pylons located on either side of the span is offset by an axial compression prestressing. <IMAGE>
