[origin: EP0454618A1] The drafting-roller unit (1) has a circulation space (59) which completely surrounds all the spark-generating elements of the unit. In the galette (15), the circulation space (59) initially guides the scavenging gas into an annular space along the shaft (7) to the bottom (67) of the galette (15) and from there back between the winding stack (35) of the induction winding (35) under the galette surface (43). A gap (45) of minimum width between the galette surface (43) and a covering collar (41) supporting the galette (15) and the stationary parts of the unit form the outlet orifice for the scavenging gas.
