In a spark plug for an air-compressing internal combustion engine, having a spark plug housing (3) with a connection device (5) for the spark current and having a spark tube (2) which is attached to the plug housing and is closed off at its one end facing away from the plug housing, a wire helical-shaped resistance element (4) being provided embedded in an electrically insulating material (7) in the spark tube (2), there is provision for the wire helical-shaped resistance element (4) to be concentrated spacially on the area of the end of the spark tube (2) facing away from the plug housing (3). <IMAGE>

Bei einer Glühkerze für eine luftverdichtende Brennkraftmaschine, mit einem Kerzengehäuse (3), mit einer Anschlußvorrichtung (5) für den Glühstrom und mit einem an dem Kerzengehäuse angebrachten Glührohr (2), das an seinem vom Kerzengehäuse abgewandten Ende verschlossen ist, wobei in dem Glührohr (2) ein drahtwendelförmiges Widerstandselement (4) in einem elektrisch isolierenden Material (7) eingebettet vorgesehen ist, ist vorgesehen, daß das drahtwendelförmige Widerstandselement (4) räumlich auf den Bereich des vom Kerzengehäuse (3) abgewandten Endes des Glührohres (2) konzentriert ist. <IMAGE>
