A laboratory centrifuge is known having a rotor which is arranged in a housing with a lid and is driven by a motor, the drive shaft being vertically aligned and having a positively guided air cooling in which air intake takes place in the direction of the axis of the shaft. In order to disclose a simple and economical air-cooled centrifuge in which cooling air reliably sucks neither air-borne particulates into the sample nor entrains air-borne particulates out of the rotor housing even in the event of a specimen tube breaking, the rotor is surrounded by an aerosol-tight container, a ventilation wheel is positioned on the power take-up side end of the shaft and there are openings in the floor surface of the housing below the ventilation wheel, through which openings the air is sucked into the housing and guided upwards, distributed axially along the walls of the container, via the ventilation wheel.

Es ist eine Laboratoriums-Zentrifuge bekannt mit einem in einem Gehäuse (1) mit Deckel (14) angeordneten Rotor (7), der von einem Motor (4) angetrieben wird, wobei die Antriebs-Welle vertikal ausgerichtet ist, und mit einer zwangsgeführten Luftkühlung, bei der in Richtung der Achse der Welle (6) eine Ansaugung der Luft erfolgt. Um eine einfache und kostengünstige, luftgekühlte Zentrifuge anzugeben, bei der Kühlluft mit Sicherheit weder Schwebstoffe in die Probe einschleppt noch, auch im Falle des Bruchs eines Probenröhrchens, Schwebstoffe aus dem Rotor-Gehäuse mitnimmt, ist der Rotor von einem aerosoldichten Behälter (9) umgeben, auf das abtriebsseitige Ende der Welle ein Lüfterrad (16) aufgesetzt und sind Öffnungen (17) in der Bodenfläche (2) des Gehäuses unterhalb des Lüfterrades ausgebildet, durch die die Luft in das Gehäuse angesaugt und über das Lüfterrad (16) axial verteilt an den Wänden (10) des Behälters (9) nach oben entlanggeführt wird. <IMAGE>
