[origin: CA2041196A1] The invention refers to a method for manufacturing a sack or bag with a bottom being rectangular in the filled state and a handle portion joined thereto. In order to provide an economical method of the above-mentioned kind for the production by machine, according to the invention the following steps are carried out subsequently. At first a tube piece (10) is provided at one end thereof with two slits being substantially in parallel to each other and to the lateral fold edges. Then the bottom is mounted thereon, thereby forming the corner tucks (14) and the side tucks (16, 18). Furthermore, handle portion sheets (22), being produced in separate method steps and comprising a reinforcing portion (24) and a portion (26) forming a reinforcing strip in the glued state, is preferably glued or welded such that at a side tuck (16) an edge portion (20) is not covered by the prefabricated handle portion. Subsequently, a side tuck (16) and the corner tucks (14) are folded at a fold line (28) extending through the tops of the corner tucks (14) and the glueing or welding is carried out over an area through the edge zone (30) of the side tuck (16) and, if required, of the handle portion sheet (22) being put on. Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Sacks oder Beutels mit im gefüllten Zustand rechteckigem Boden und angesetztem Griffteil. Um ein maschinell ausführbares und kostengünstiges Verfahren der obengenannten Art an die Hand zu geben, werden erfindungsgemäß folgende Schritte nacheinander durchgeführt. Zunächst wird ein Schlauchstück (10) an einem Ende mit zwei zueinander und zu den seitlichen Faltkanten im wesentlichen parallelen Einschnitten versehen. Anschließend wird der Boden unter Bildung von Eckeinschlägen (14) und Seiteneinschlägen (16, 18) aufgezogen. Des weiteren werden in einer separaten Verfahrensfolge gefertigte Griffteilzettel (22) mit einem Verstärkungsbereich (24) und einem im aufgeklebten Zustand einen Verstärkungsstreifen bildenden Bereich (26) vorzugsweise derart aufgeklebt oder aufgeschweißt, daß an einem Seiteneinschlag (16) ein Randbereich (20) von dem vorgefertigten Griffteil nicht überdeckt wird. Schließlich werden ein Seiteneinschlag (16) und die Eckeinschläge 14 um eine Faltlinie (28) gefaltet, die durch die Spitzen der Eckeinschläge (14) verläuft und über eine Randzone (30) des Seiteneinschlags (16) und gegebenenfalls des aufgelegten Griffteilzettels (22) wird flächig verklebt bzw. verschweißt. <IMAGE>
