Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0456000A1] In a traffic system for town traffic in which the cabins are moved on a rail system and are made to circulate, at least for a certain period, by a circulating traction cable, the cabins being fastened to the traction cable with clamps, stations 3 are arranged between the terminal stations 16 with the deflecting devices 1 for the traction cable at arbitrary intervals, in which stations the cabin 12 which is stopping comes to a standstill on a secondary track 6 and the traffic flow has a possibility of overtaking. In the individual stations 3,3' an electronic call system is installed which, in cooperation with the central control, causes the next cabin 12 with a free place to find the stations 3,3' and to pick up the passenger or passengers or to insert a further cabin or cabin train into the rail system. In the cabins themselves station selection devices are provided for the next stop. By virtue of the fact that the secondary track 6 is arranged above or below the through-going rail system 4, the stations are made simpler and it is possible to get directly into the stopping car in a similar manner as in the case of a railway platform. <IMAGE>
