[origin: EP0456147A1] The railway track structure has rails (2) arranged in pairs and rail bracing sleepers (3) lying transversely to the rails and connected to these. These sleepers lie with their end sections on rigid bases, preferably of concrete with intermediate, flexible rail pads (7). They are accommodated by trough-like recesses (4) and enclosed on three sides. On the underside of the end sections of the sleepers (3) plate-shaped flexible rail pads (7) are provided. A wedge (9) is driven in in each case between the lateral faces of the end sections of the sleepers (3) and the respectively adjoining wall (17) of the trough-like recess (4). <IMAGE>
