[origin: EP0456634A2] A slicing apparatus for foodstuffs such as sausage, cheese or the like comprises a product carriage (1) which is displaceable by hand or motor along a rotationally driven circular cutter (4), furthermore a depositing device with a conveying apparatus (6), for example a pivoting rake or a chain frame (7) with chains (8) which are driven in rotation or reverse and are equipped with tips (9), and a striker (10) which is pivotable towards a depositing tray (13) and has fingers (11) which engage behind the conveying apparatus (6). The conveying apparatus (6) comprises at least two zones for at least two slices (14, 15) of at least two simultaneously cut product pieces (2, 3). The fingers (11) of the striker (10) engage behind only one of the zones. During each cutting operation with two or more product pieces (2, 3), a control system (16) switches on a pivoting drive (20) of the striker (10), then the conveying apparatus (6) for a distance corresponding to the spacing of the zones, and finally the pivoting drive (20) of the striker (10) again. <IMAGE>
