[origin: WO9008879A1] In rotary piston internal combustion engines which operate on the cat-and-mouse principle, the oscillating movement of the piston (32) is transmitted by connecting rods (22) to crankshafts (24) and gears (27). The gears (27) intermesh with a ring gear (28), and the movement of the piston is thereby converted into a rotary movement of the rotor (10). Static coincidence of the central axis of the hub (30) connecting the pistons (32) is effected by the four connecting rods (22). In order to absorb the resultant stresses, elastic connecting means (36; 94) are provided between the ring gear (28) and the housing (11).

Dans des moteurs à combustion interne à pistons rotatifs qui fonctionnent selon le principe du chat et de la souris, le mouvement oscillant des pistons (32) est transmis par des bielles (22) à des vilebrequins (24) et des engrenages (27). Ces engrenages (27) s'engrènent avec une couronne de train planétaire (28), et le mouvement des pistons est ainsi converti en un mouvement rotatif (28) du rotor (10). La coïncidence statique de l'axe central du moyeu (30) reliant les pistons (32) s'effectue par les quatre bielles (22). Afin d'absorber les contraintes résultantes, des moyens élastiques de raccordement (36; 94) sont prévues entre la couronne de train planétaire (28) et le carter (11).
