[origin: EP0457043A2] In a flashing light warning system, having a voltage source, having a main isolating transformer, having a flash tube, having an ignition device, having two storage capacitors and having an electrical switching device, in order to create a flashing light warning system which can be produced easily and cost-effectively and which permits a changeover in the light power between a daytime flash and at least one night-time flash, with reliable generation of the light flash, the night-time flash having a light power which can be identified at a distance only with night-vision apparatuses, the switching path of a first electrical switching device is arranged in parallel with the first storage capacitor, a third storage capacitor and the ignition device are connected to an additional isolating transformer, and the first switching device can be switched over by a control device. <IMAGE>
