[origin: EP0457720A2] The feeding device possesses a belt conveyor having a plurality of conveying belts (15) which are distributed over the width of the feeding device and advance the veneer sheets solely due to the adhesive friction. Furthermore, devices (26) having spacers (27) circulating in orbits are provided, the spacers engaging, along the conveying section next to the conveying belts, between the individual veneer sheets and being carried along by the latter. These devices (26) are arranged underneath the conveying plane. <??>An unrestricted view of the veneer sheets located in the feeding device, perfect processing of thin veneer sheets and a simpler and less expensive design of the feeding device are achieved by these measures. <IMAGE>
