Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0458094A2] In the case of a grit spreading apparatus for winter service in which spreading material is fed from a continuous conveyor into a fall pipe (3) and via an inclined chute (15) to a specific point on a scatter plate (17), which rotates about an essentially vertical axis (18) and which is arranged eccentrically in relation to the fall pipe (3) and is swivel-mounted about the vertical axis (19) of the fall pipe (3) for transverse displacement of the scattering pattern in relation to the longitudinal centre axis of the spreading apparatus (1), the spreading material is centrifugally scattered over varying distances depending on the speed of rotation. In order to improve the distribution of spreading material and in order to achieve an adequate transverse displacement of the scattering pattern within a limited overall swivel angle ( beta ), the scatter plate (17) is rigidly arranged centrally at the bottom end (11) of a guide pipe (9), which runs sloping rearwards from the top at an angle of inclination ( alpha ) of at least 20 DEG to the vertical (10) and which is pivotally mounted at its upper end by means of a short bearing connection (8) on a fall pipe connection (4) arranged below the continuous conveyor and can be brought by remote control into different swivel angle positions ( beta ) with the chute (15). <IMAGE>
