[origin: EP0458777A1] The invention relates to a barrel lock, preferably for a microcomputer-controlled blocking system (15) for locks, in which the unlocking and locking mechanism of a lock is connected (electrically) to the microcomputer (10) and the microcomputer is able to receive, via an input device formed by a key, a code (unlocking code) which is read by a reading contact provided on the lock, a store connected to a microcomputer and containing a preset code being provided and furthermore a comparator circuit for comparing the code, input via the key, with the stored code being present, the microcomputer sending an unlocking pulse to the unlocking and locking device of the lock if the codes correspond, and the key containing a battery for supplying the lock microcomputer, if blocked with a key, and the key furthermore containing an electronic storage element, and the reading contact being arranged on the lock microcomputer, and optionally both the key and the lock microcomputer, or its store, being equipped with an external contact via which the respective store can be set by means of an office computer.
