Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0383595A1] The incorporation of cross linked polymeric particles derived from a vinyl or vinylidene group containing monomer especially an ester of acrylic or methacrylic acid into the liquid phase of a two phase self polymerisable resin cement has been found to be advantageous. It reduced the exotherm produced on mixing the solid and liquid phase components and the degree of shrinkage upon setting. The novel cements find application as dental cements and more especially as bone cements.

On a découvert que l'incorporation de particules polymères réticulées dérivées d'un monomère contenant un groupe vinyle ou vinylidène, notamment un acide acrylique ou méthacrylique, dans la phase liquide d'un ciment de résine auto-polymérisable à deux phases, est avantageuse. Elle a pour effet de réduire l'exotherme produit lors du mélange des constituants des phases solide et liquide, ainsi que le degré de rétrécissement lors du durcissement. Les nouveaux ciments trouvent des applications en tant que ciments dentaires et notamment en tant que ciments osseux.
