[origin: WO9109172A1] A method of making watermarked paper, in which lace (2 or 20) is bonded to a wire cloth (3 or 30) so as to form a patterned net which is then mounted as a face wire on a cylinder mold (10) or a dandy roll (1) for a cylinder machine, and the cylinder mold (10) or dandy roll thus treated is used for papermaking. The method enables watermarked paper on which a delicate and complicated lace-like pattern is watermarked with an excellent gradation to be made readily at a low cost.
