[origin: EP0458997A1] In order to avoid so-called microjets (25) in bubble-jet ink printing units which can occur undesirably after the ejection of an ink droplet (24) which is desired for recording, when the ink vapour bubble (28) bursts, it is proposed to delay the condensation of the ink vapour bubble (28). This is brought about either by an increased supply of heat to the transducer element (16) in the form of reheating pulses (27) or by reduced conduction away of heat out of the transducer element (16) by suitable selection of materials for the transducer element or the parts (18) surrounding the transducer element. <IMAGE>
