Abstract (en)

The invention relates to a method and to a device for automatically adjusting the position of at least one straightening roller of a roller straightener with a view to obtaining the correct straightening of an elongate product which has variations in cross-section. The diameter of the product to be straightened (1) is measured (21, 2; 23, 26) in a plane perpendicular to the axes of the straightening rollers (20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25) and as a function of the diameter thus determined, the positioning of at least one of the straightening rollers (20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25) is caused, this positioning corresponding to the correct straightening of an elongate product whose diameter in the straightening plane is equal to the measured diameter. <IMAGE>
