Abstract (en)
The apparatus consists of a hollow tubular body 2 which has, on one side, at its top part, four parallel slots 5 each intended to receive a pack of thirteen cards of one of the colours of a set of cards. A vertical screen 6 arranged at the rear of the slots 5 conceals the packs of cards from the view of the other players. In the other part of the body 2 is accommodated a reeled-up strip on which is printed the list of successive hands of the player. This list emerges via a slot 9 towards the base of the body 2 and then returns inside the latter via a slot 8 and reemerges via a slot 7. The player reads, on the part of the strip which has emerged via the slot 9, the composition of the hand to be made up and rapidly forms this hand by means of the packs of cards accommodated in the slots 5. <??>The apparatus permits the rapid formation of a predetermined bridge hand by a player at the table. <IMAGE>
