Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0459969A1] A self-inking stamp with inking in an upside-down position consists of a lower part (1) which is to be placed on the surface to be stamped and which receives an ink pad (3), and also of, movable to and fro between the ink pad (3) and the set-down surface (2) with simultaneous turning, a stamp insert (4) which supports a printing plate or the like, and of an actuating part (5). The actuating part (5) engages around the lower part (1) with two side legs (5a) guided on its narrow side walls and is displaceable towards the set-down surface (2) against spring force. The turning pivot (7a) of the stamp insert (4) is mounted in the ends of the side legs (5a). This turning pivot (7; 7a) passes through the narrow side walls of the lower part (1) in straight slots. In the lower part (1), there are arranged in the region of its narrow side walls a fixed roll-off stop (9) and on the stamp insert (4), at a distance from its pivot (7; 7a), in the narrow side centre a gear member (12). The gear member (12) interacts, during the to and fro movement of the stamp insert (4), with the roll-off stop (9) in the manner of a rack and pinion gear. In order to achieve simplification of manufacture and to ensure that the stamp insert (4) after turning in each case maintains the correct position, the gear members (12) on the stamp insert (4) are of flat U-shaped design with leg ends which are rounded off or bevelled on the inside. In each case, there is provided as roll-off stop a single pin (9) which is exposed on the ink pad and set-down surface side. Adjacent to the cutouts (10) for this exposure are straight guides (11), which are parallel to the slots (8), for the leg ends of the gear member (12). <IMAGE>
