[origin: EP0460410A1] In long bath tubs, the problem exists that persons of short physical stature cannot assume a comfortable recumbent position. It is proposed that the end wall (4) defining the interior space of the tub make a transition by means of at least one step into at least one longitudinal side wall (1, 2) and form a foot part (10) which is stepped in the longitudinal direction of the bath tub. As a result, a secure support for the feet, and hence a comfortable position in the bath tub, are provided even for persons of short physical stature. <IMAGE>
