[origin: EP0460543A1] The device comprises two rotatable jaws (1 and 2) made of plastic material, one of which is supported by a fixed element (5) forming a handle, and the other is supported by a movable piece (8) articulated (at 10) on the handle (5). A coil spring situated between the handle (5) and the movable piece (8) is used to hold the two jaws (1 and 2) spaced apart from one another. The blade of the instrument to be bent is engaged between the two jaws (1 and 2) when the latter are spaced apart from one another, then a pressure is exerted on the piece (8) to move the jaw (2) towards the jaw (1) and grip the blade of the instrument engaged between them. Finally, with the blade still gripped between the jaws (1 and 2), a traction is exerted on the instrument accompanied by a lateral displacement, which ensures the bending of its blade. <IMAGE>
