[origin: EP0460682A1] The invention relates to an apparatus for wrapping products in tubular or hood-shaped stretchable film, in particular stacked product parts, such as for example and in particular multi-layered palleted product stacks, having a possibly multi-part (concertina-folding and/or stretching) lifting frame, which is intended to receive a film hood, preferably in concertina-folded form, and stretch it transversely, and by means of which the transversely stretched hood is to be drawn over the products to be wrapped, there being arranged on the lifting frame at least one sensor (12, 13'), by means of which it can be monitored in each case whether the outline contour of the respectively following products section to be wrapped lies within the clear (outline) contour of the lifting frame, and by means of which the lifting operation can be interrupted if the clear lifting frame contour is infringed by the outline contour of the product to be wrapped, or by means of which it can be established whether the film is in engagement with the lifting frame. <IMAGE>
