[origin: WO9109693A1] A sheet steel strip which is wound to form lock seam tubing with helical seams has a projecting edge flange (2) along one longitudinal side and a closable channel (11) on the other longitudinal side, which slips onto the edge flange of the last turn during winding. The height (h) of the edge flange (2) is reduced by crease zones (4, 17) in the edge flange (2) and in the free flange (12) of the channel, which are formed by upsetting during closing.

Une bande en tôle servant à enrouler des tubes sertis à jonctions hélicoïdales présente, sur l'un de ses grandes côtés, une arête de bord (2) en saillie vers le bas et sur le second grand côté une arête en U (11) susceptible de s'engager, et laquelle vient se glisser, lors de l'enroulement, sur l'arête de bord (2) de la dernière spire. Dans l'arête de bord (2) et dans l'aile (12) libre de l'arête en U (11), il est prévu des zones déformables (4, 17) susceptibles d'être refoulées pour réduire la hauteur (h) de l'arête de bord (2) lors de l'engagement.
