Abstract (en)
A spectacle lens (1) comprising front and rear refracting surfaces is provided, at least one of these two refracting surfaces exhibiting a variation in curvature in the region from approximately the center (0) thereof to the outer lens periphery (A, B) which is larger in the upper section of the lens than in the lower section thereof. It is further provided a spectacle lens comprising a refracting surface having a relatively small refracting power and endowed with a refracting power in the minus direction in the region from the center to the periphery thereof, and a refracting surface having a relatively large refracting power and formed, in the region from the center to the periphery thereof, as a compensating surface adapted to compensate for the optical characteristics due to the above-mentioned refracting power in the minus direction. <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
