[origin: EP0461898A1] A rotating brush cleaning system (20) is provided for removing debris, lint and ink from components (28) of printing devices. Operation is effected by an air cylinder (38) which periodically urges a rotating spiral brush cleaner (20) against the component (28) of the printing device and retracts the cleaner (20) from the component (28) of the printing device. The action of the cleaner (20) in combination with rotation of the component (28) of the printing device is such as to loosen dust and lint from the component (28), which dust and lint is then drawn into a vacuum system (40-41-56-58) that surrounds the cleaner (20). <IMAGE>
