The invention relates to a device for closing at least one orifice made in a platform of a vehicle in line with at least some of the passages for the rolling members, in order, at least in some vertical positions which the platform can assume as a result of its suspension, to make it possible for each corresponding rolling member to engage partially therein. It is characterised in that, between the edge (24) associated with the means of articulation and the axle (18), the guide mechanism (15) comprises at least one arm (16) fixed to the cover and shifting said axle (18) some distance away from the edge (24) carrying it, so that, allowing for the amplitude of the oscillating movement of the cover (14), during its retraction, the opposite edge (23) of said cover is displaced along a substantially rectilinear path. <IMAGE>
