Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0462490A1] The invention relates to a film dampening system for rotary presses which comprises successively a dipper roller (101), which is driven at variable speeds by an electric motor, said dipper roller (101) being partially immersed in the wetting trough (107) which contains the dampening medium, a dosing roller (102) coated with elastomer, a dampening medium distributor roller (103) coated with hydrophilic material, and a forme dampening roller (104) coated with elastomer which is in contact with the dampening medium distributor roller (103) and the plate cylinder (105) of the press. <??>The dampening system (100) according to the invention deserves consideration in that the dampening medium distributor roller (103) can be driven selectively by the dosing roller (102) in such a way that differential sliding takes place between the dampening medium distributor roller (103) and the forme dampening roller (104), or it can be driven by the plate cylinder (105) in such a way that the differential sliding takes place between the dampening medium distributor roller (103) and the dosing roller (102). As a result of the selective drive of the dampening medium distributor roller (103), the one or the other of the two different types of dampening can be applied optionally. <IMAGE>
