The invention relates to a toothbrush (1) in which the brush head (2) and the brush handle (3) are joined together by means of a flexible member (4), which only permits movement of the brush handle (3) relative to the brush head (2) in an axial direction (AR). Transverse movements are not possible. The flexible member (4) acts as an impact absorption element to avoid damage to teeth and injury to gums. The front edge (17) of the brush head (2) may be provided with a pad, which may be sprayed on or else slid onto the brush plate (5) in the form of a cap. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Zahnbürste (1), bei welcher der Bürstenkopf (2) und der Bürstenstiel (3) durch ein Elastizitätsglied (4) miteinander verbunden sind, das dem Bürstenstiel (3) nur in Axialrichtung (AR) eine Relativbewegung zum Bürstenkopf (2) erlaubt. Querbewegungen sind nicht möglich. Das Elastizitätsglied (4) wirkt als Stoßabsorptionselement zur Vermeidung von Beschädigungen der Zähne und Verletzungen des Zahnfleischs. Die Stirnkante (17) des Bürstenkopfs (2) kann mit einem Polster versehen sein, das angespritzt oder in Form einer Kappe auf die Borstenplatte (5) schiebbar ist. <IMAGE>
