[origin: EP0463449A1] An apparatus is described which consists of a two-part glue scraper (2, 3), which can be adjusted in relation to a glue roller (22), in a labelling machine, the two parts of this scraper, together with their own respective support (4, 5), being mounted pivotably one above the other on a common shaft (1), in which arrangement each support is spring-loaded in the direction of a stop (14, 15) which is fixed to the frame and is set to a minimum gap width of the glue scraper, and there being provided parallel to said stop an adjustable stop (10, 11) which is fixed to the frame and on which the support (4, 5) is borne via an actuator (8, 9) having constant adjustment travel. This apparatus is to be improved so as to make it possible for the two supports also to be coupled to one another in such a way that when only one actuator is actuated, the support associated with said actuator takes the other support along with it. This object is achieved if the actuator (8, 9, 26, 27) is designed as a multistage actuating device. <IMAGE>
