This lubrication system, in which the tappet (2) comprises a sleeve (15) having a first hydraulic compression chamber (20) for adjusting the clearance of a corresponding valve, fed from a fluid source by way of at least one first port (18) made in the side wall of the sleeve (15), when the tappet is in the high position, is characterised in that the sleeve (15) has a second hydraulic chamber (21) located above the first, at least one second port (23) opening into the second chamber (21) and made in its side wall above the first at a distance corresponding to the stroke of the tappet, so that the second chamber (21) is fed from the source when the tappet is in the low position, and at least one third port (25) made in its upper wall and opening, on the one hand, into the second chamber (21) and, on the other hand, in the vicinity of the contact surfaces of the cam shaft and of the tappet in order to lubricate them. <IMAGE>

Ce système de lubrification, dans lequel le poussoir (2) comporte une chemise (15) comprenant une première chambre hydraulique de compression (20) pour le réglage du jeu d'une soupape correspondante, alimentée à partir d'une source de fluide à travers au moins un premier orifice (18) ménagé dans la paroi latérale de la chemise (15), lorsque le poussoir est en position haute, est caractérisé en ce que la chemise (15) comprend une seconde chambre hydraulique (21), au-dessus de la première, au moins un second orifice (23) débouchant dans la seconde chambre (21), ménagé dans sa paroi latérale au-dessus du premier, à une distance correspondant à la course du poussoir, pour que la seconde chambre (21) soit alimentée à partir de la source lorsque le poussoir est en position basse et au moins un troisième orifice (25) ménagé dans sa paroi supérieure, débouchant d'une part dans la seconde chambre (21) et d'autre part à proximité des surfaces en contact de l'arbre à cames et du poussoir pour les lubrifier. <IMAGE>
