[origin: WO9011414A1] An outlet fitting for sinks, wash-stands, bath-stands, bath-tubs and similar sanitary appliances comprises an outlet cup supported in a outlet hole. The closure element for the outlet hole is a plunger consisting of a guide element and a plunger head which can be moved longitudinally by means of a plunger rod. The upper rim region of the outlet cup forms a sealing collar for the plunger head in its closed position. To facilitate cleaning and improve the appearance of the sanitary appliance, the upper rim region (14) of the outlet cup (12), which forms a seat (13), is inserted into the wall of the appliance (10) in the outlet hole (11) to a depth such that the surface of the plunger head (15) in its open position is coplanar with the upper rim of the outlet hole (11). To mask the upper rim region (14) of the oulet cup (12) located inside the oulet hole (11), the diameter of the plunger head (15) is at least equal to the largest diameter of the upper rim region (14) of the outlet cup (12).
