[origin: WO9011171A1] Discontinuous natural fibers have a coating of a thermoplastic binder. A substantial majority of the fibers and any fiber bundles are unbonded to one another by the thermoplastic binder material. One or more solid particulate materials may be adhered to the fibers by the binder material. The binder material is heat fusible and the coated fibers can be mixed with other fibers for subsequent heat bonding and used in producing a wide variety of products.

Des fibres naturelles discontinues comportent un revêtement de liant thermoplastique. Une grande majorité des fibres et les faisceaux de fibres ne sont pas liés les uns aux autres par ladite matière de liaison thermoplastique. On peut coller une ou plusieurs matières particulaires solides auxdites fibres, à l'aide de ladite matière de liaison. Ladite matière de liaison est thermofusible, et l'on peut mélanger les fibres revêtues avec d'autres fibres, afin de procéder à une liaison thermique ultérieure, et les utiliser dans la production d'une large variété de produits.
