Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0464293A1] The closed fire (1) is connected to a smoke exhaust pipe (2). It comprises a glazed front door (3) and a central hearth (4) where the combustion (5) is maintained by admission of primary (14) and secondary (19) air. According to the invention, the closed fire (1) comprises means for preheating and creating a turning movement (10) of the combustion air in the hearth (4). This makes it possible to raise the combustion temperature and to create a sweep of clean air facing the internal pane (12) of the front door (3) in order to avoid the latter blackening. The heating efficiency is improved with a reduced release of polluting smoke. The invention is of interest to manufacturers of heating apparatuses. <IMAGE>
