[origin: EP0464444A1] The invention relates to a yarn delivery device having a storage body (1), to which the yarn (F) runs at one end in the circumferential direction and from which the yarn (F) is drawn off in the axial direction (overhead) and which is assigned a sensing device (4, 5, 6,8, 13), the signal of which influences the yarn wind-on speed (18), and which possesses a pivoting arm (4) carrying a sensor part of the sensing device interacting contactlessly with a fixed sensor part. To achieve an especially functionally advantageous solution, it is proposed that, in all the positions of the pivoting arm, the signals received by the fixed sensor part, starting from the bearing of the first yarn turns on the pivoting arm (4), control a reduction of the yarn wind-on speed, which speed decreases to a minimum value analogously to the increasing covering of the length of the pivoting arm with yarn turns. <IMAGE>
