Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0464446A2] In order to avoid problematic process steps in the manufacture of reflector lamps, the production of the light-reflecting layer (6) is carried out by plasma-supported vacuum coating of the exterior bulb surface using, for example, titanium nitride, instead of by thermal vapour-deposition of the internal bulb surface using aluminium or aluminium-bronze. The light-reflecting layer (6) applied in this way has high adhesive strength and is very resistant to scratching and is also resistant to oxidation and moisture attack at an elevated temperature. <IMAGE>
