[origin: EP0464778A1] The invention relates to a postal franking machine, printing stamps while computing the values of these stamps, and comprising: - a motor (27) and rollers carrying figures in relief for printing a stamp; - a microprocessor (16) for controlling the motor, and for computing the value of each stamp; - coders (21 to 24) for translating into the form of binary words the values of the figures of the stamp printed; and the states of manual control switches (SW'1 to SW'4); - interfaces constituted essentially by an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) (25) comprising means for receiving and executing a start control signal for the motor (27); or a stop control signal for the motor; or a single signal triggering a scan and transmission of the values translated by all the coders (21 to 24) and of the states of all the switches (SW'1 to SW'4). <IMAGE>
