[origin: EP0464924A1] The invention relates to a high voltage transformer, particularly for an X-ray apparatus, having a high voltage winding (4) which contains at least one winding (5), held by an insulating body (6). Improved heat dissipation from the winding (5) is facilitated by the winding being wound in a self-supporting and dimensionally stable manner, free of retaining bodies and/or intermediate insulation elements, and being connected via a small part of its surface to the insulating body (6) in such a manner that the predominant part of its surface is arranged with an unobstructed spacing to walls of the insulating body (6). <IMAGE>
