[origin: US5168882A] The device is made up of a cylindrical rotary disk (32), part of the cylindrical outside surface (32b) of which intercepts a surplus portion of the stream of tobacco and separates it from the main stream. The surplus portion is eliminated and recycled without damaging the tobacco fibers. The device is intended to be disposed before trimming and compression apparatus which prepares a rod of tobacco in order to regulate the thickness of the rod before segments thereof are compressed. Thus, each compressed segment will have the same density of tobacco.

Le dispositif de contrôle d'un flux de tabac est disposé avant le dispositif d'écrêtage et de compression préparant le boudin de tabac et est chargé de réguler l'épaisseur de ce boudin avant que des segments en soient comprimés. De cette manière, chaque segment comprimé aura la même densité de tabac. Pour ceci, le dispositif de contrôle d'un flux de tabac est constitué d'un disque cylindrique (32) en rotation dont une portion de la surface externe cylindrique (32b) intercepte une portion du flux de tabac en excès et la sépare du flux principal. Ainsi, la portion en surplus est éliminée et recyclée, sans que les brins de tabac ne soient endommagés. <IMAGE>
