Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9111608A1] The fuel-injection system described has a multiplicity of valves (18) of the top-feed type and a fuel distributor (10) with a channel (12) inside a plastic housing (11) and with a connection piece (16) designed to hold at the end a feed connection (20) on the injection valve (18). To simplify manufacture and assembly of the valves (18), and to protect them against torsional distortion, electrical sockets (26, 27) designed to accommodate matching electrical plug elements (21, 22) on the valves (18) are integrated in the fuel distributor housing (11). Two sockets (26, 27) are associated with each connection (16) such that, when the valve (18) is inserted in the connection piece (16), the plug elements (21, 22) penetrate at the same time into their associated plug sockets (26, 27). All the plug sockets (26, 27) are electrically connected to a multipole plug (30) mounted on the fuel distributor (10), the multipole plug being connected to the electrical valve-control unit.
